In 1969, Fender introduced the short-lived Swinger, of which only 250 were made. It was made of left-over and modified Mustang and Musicmaster parts. It was marketed as another cheaper, short-scale 'student' type guitar. It's also known as Arrow or Musiclander, and was discontinued after one year of production.
Type: 1967 (?) Swinger | |||
Serial #: Unknown | |||
Remarks: The colour is Sonic Blue. According to the usual documentation, no Swingers were made as early as 1967. It's probably a 1969 Swinger.

Type: 1969 Swinger | |||
Serial #: 271080 | |||
Remarks: Quite a rare guitar, though only because Fender quickly saw the error of their ways and stopped producing it. This one does not have the 'Swinger' name on the headstock.

Type: 1969 (probably) Swinger
Serial #: Unknown | |||
Remarks: It's pretty amazing, that these bits of guitar-shaped scrap are offered for exorbitant amounts of money. I caught this one on a vintage guitar site. Nearly US$ 3000 was asked for it. If you ask me, it's not even worth 1/10th of that. It was described as a '1966 Swinger', which goes to show that some people really do not have a clue.
